ANY HOW.
I finally watched Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy last night. Okay, now I ‘get’ why it wasn’t in wide release and slipped in and out of the theatres so quickly. While it is EXCELLENT, it is most definitely not an ‘american’ movie and probably about 5% of the movie going population here would even get it, fewer would even enjoy it.
Fortunately I got it and complete enjoyed it. Although now I really MUST re-watch so that the first part of the movie where I was going ‘wait, who, what?’ will make more sense :P
The thing I found exquisite is while NOT spoon feeding the plot to you, I was able to simply watch the scene and do my own obvious-narration and it was entirely RIGHT. So I narrated a bit to myself. Benefits of watching 1. at home and 2. not with anyone else. No one else to annoy :) [hint, if you think something is happening, it IS. if you think they are gay, THEY ARE]
